Beginner Classes Cork

These classes are aimed at people who are new to Classes with all levels of fitness. We recommend these classes as an introductory. Book your class at reception in advance and inform your instructor that you are new to the class and if you have any injuries. For all Classes you will be shown the correct technique and how to work to your ability and level.

Zumba

ZUMBA is a fusion of Latin and International music / dance themes that create a dynamic, exciting, and based on the principle that a workout should be “FUN AND EASY TO DO.” The routines feature aerobic/fitness interval training with a combination of fast and slow rhythms that tone and sculpt the body.

Spinning Introductory Classes

A Spinning® Class can burn on average 500 calories. Even at challenging levels other cardio equipment couldn’t burn that many calories in such a short time. Classes we would recommend to Start with would be the following:

Thursday 10.00am-11.00am with Jackie (Note: This is a Spin & Tone Class which is a Half an hour Spinning and Half Hour of Toning)

Pump & Toning Introductory Classes

New to weights we would recommend the following Pump and Toning Classes using Light weights and High Reps.

Aqua Aerobic Classes

Our Swim Coach Brendan teaches Aqua Aerobics in the Shallow End and also Deep Water Aqua for that extra challenge for comfortable swimmers. We would recommend the following:

Yoga for all Levels

Catherine our Yoga Instructor teaches Yoga courses for Beginners and advanced Levels on a Tuesday night. We would recommend starting with her Pay as You Go class first on a Thursday Morning; excellent if you are new to Yoga and you want to try it:

Contemporary Dance for All Levels

Tina our Dance teacher is with us for over 15 years now, she teaches kids and adults. It is a Fun way to exercise and she always welcomes New dancers. Why not try her Contemporary Dance class on a Wednesday night:

Circuits for all Levels

Circuits can be a High intensity class so we recommend starting with Gill’s class on a Friday morning and building your way up to more advanced classes. Circuits consists of different exercise stations where you will be doing a different exercise every minute. A great workout and a fun one to do with a friend.

Abdominal Classes for 15 mins

Our Spinning Instructors teach a 15 mins ab workout for all members after most Spinning classes, targeting your tummy muscles and lower back. You can join into this class for Free over at the Stretching area in the Gym, even if you are not doing Spinning! See Abdominal class times below:
